Pickleball Paddle Warranty
Sports Circuit is an authorized Canadian retailer for the pickleball paddle brands we sell. Eligible warranty claims are reviewed under the limited warranty offered by the paddle manufacturer.
A manufacturer warranty is intended to address qualifying defects in materials or workmanship. It is separate from the Sports Circuit Return and Refund Policy and does not guarantee an immediate refund or replacement.
Important: Warranty periods, registration requirements, exclusions and remedies vary by brand and paddle model. The manufacturer's policy applicable to the product will govern the claim, and the manufacturer makes the final coverage decision.
Warranty Period and Product Registration
Pickleball paddle warranty periods vary considerably. Some manufacturers provide coverage for a limited number of months, while others offer one-year or limited lifetime coverage to the original purchaser.
Eligibility may depend on:
- The paddle brand and model
- The original purchase date
- Whether the customer is the original purchaser
- Whether the paddle was purchased from an authorized retailer
- Whether product registration was completed within the required period
- The manufacturer's warranty terms in effect for the product
Keep your Sports Circuit order confirmation or receipt. When a manufacturer offers or requires product registration, complete it promptly and retain the registration confirmation.
What May Qualify for Review
A paddle may qualify for manufacturer review when an issue appears to result from a defect in its materials, construction or workmanship during normal intended use.
Examples that may require assessment include:
- Unexpected separation between paddle components
- A handle or throat failure without evidence of impact or misuse
- An edge guard that separates because of an apparent assembly issue
- An unusual internal rattle that may indicate a construction problem
- A suspected core or face defect that materially affects normal performance
- Another structural issue that may be attributable to manufacturing
These examples do not confirm warranty coverage. Changes in sound, feel, texture or performance can have several causes, and the manufacturer must determine whether the condition is a covered defect.
What Is Usually Not Covered
Manufacturer warranties generally do not cover ordinary deterioration, cosmetic changes, accidental damage or conditions caused by use outside the paddle's intended purpose.
Common exclusions may include:
- Normal wear and tear
- Gradual loss of surface texture or spin performance
- Scratches, chips, scuffs, paint wear or other cosmetic damage
- Grip wear, staining, odour or deterioration
- Routine wear or damage to the edge guard
- Damage caused by striking the court, fence, net post or another object
- Damage caused by contact with another paddle or player
- Damage caused by throwing, dropping, crushing or improperly transporting the paddle
- Damage caused by misuse, abuse, negligence or improper care
- Damage caused by excessive heat, cold, sunlight, moisture or improper storage
- Damage caused by unauthorized repairs, alterations or modifications
- Products with removed, altered or unreadable serial numbers or identifiers
- Products purchased used, as-is, as a demo or from another retailer
- Loss, theft or damage occurring after the paddle leaves the customer's possession
- Commercial, rental or institutional use when excluded by the manufacturer
Manufacturer-specific exclusions may also apply. A visible crack, soft area, loose component or other problem does not by itself establish that a manufacturing defect occurred.
Paddle Face, Core and Edge Guard Concerns
Pickleball paddles naturally change with use. Surface texture may gradually wear, grips may compress and edge guards may show marks from normal play. These conditions are generally maintenance or wear issues rather than manufacturing defects.
Concerns such as a persistent internal rattle, an unusual dead area, unexpected softening, face separation or a loose edge guard may be submitted for review when there is no evidence of impact, misuse or ordinary wear.
The manufacturer may inspect the paddle's surface, core response, edge guard, handle, wear pattern and overall condition before deciding whether the issue is covered.
Stop using a paddle that appears cracked, unstable or unsafe. Continued play can worsen the damage and may make the original cause more difficult to assess.
Information Required for a Claim
To begin a warranty request, provide:
- Your full name
- Your Sports Circuit order number or receipt
- The paddle brand and model
- The colour, thickness, shape or other applicable variation
- The date the issue was first noticed
- A clear explanation of what happened and how the paddle was being used
- Confirmation of product registration when required by the manufacturer
Please include clear photographs showing:
- The complete front and back of the paddle
- The claimed defect or damaged area from more than one angle
- The full edge guard around the paddle
- The throat, handle and butt cap
- The grip and overall condition of the paddle
- The serial number, QR code, hologram or other product identifier
A short video may also be requested when the concern involves a rattle, unusual sound, movement or another issue that cannot be demonstrated clearly in photographs.
Preserve the Paddle for Review
Until claim instructions are provided:
- Do not continue using the paddle if further damage may occur
- Do not remove the edge guard, grip, butt cap or identifying labels
- Do not glue, drill, sand, heat, repaint or attempt to repair the paddle
- Do not discard loose or broken components
- Do not use abrasive cleaners on the paddle face
- Keep the original receipt, packaging and registration information when available
Altering or repairing the paddle before inspection may prevent the manufacturer from identifying the original cause and may affect warranty eligibility.
Inspection and Claim Process
After receiving a complete submission, Sports Circuit may:
- Confirm the purchase and authorized-retailer details
- Review the photographs, video and description provided
- Request additional images or information
- Provide the manufacturer's registration or claim instructions
- Submit the claim to the manufacturer on the customer's behalf
- Ask the customer to submit the claim directly to the manufacturer
- Arrange for the paddle to be physically inspected
Some claims can be assessed using photographs. Other claims require the paddle to be brought to Sports Circuit, shipped to us or sent to the manufacturer's warranty centre.
Do not ship the paddle until Sports Circuit or the manufacturer has provided authorization and the correct shipping instructions.
Manufacturer Decision and Remedies
The manufacturer determines whether the claim qualifies and what remedy, if any, will be provided.
An approved claim may result in:
- Repair of the paddle when offered by the manufacturer
- Replacement with the same model
- Replacement with a comparable model when the original is unavailable
- A manufacturer credit or voucher
- Another remedy permitted under the applicable warranty
The customer may not be able to select the replacement model, colour, thickness or remedy. An approved warranty claim does not automatically entitle the customer to a cash refund from Sports Circuit.
A replacement paddle may remain subject to the original warranty period rather than beginning a new warranty. The manufacturer's terms will determine the coverage applicable to a replacement product.
Shipping and Related Costs
The customer may be responsible for shipping the paddle to Sports Circuit or the manufacturer unless the applicable warranty policy provides otherwise.
Possible costs may include:
- Shipping the paddle for inspection
- Returning a paddle when the claim is declined
- Shipping an approved replacement
- Optional grip replacement or other requested services
Known charges will be communicated before shipment whenever reasonably possible.
Processing Time
Review times depend on the manufacturer, the completeness of the submission and whether physical inspection is required. Some claims may be resolved quickly, while others can take several weeks.
Sports Circuit will assist with reasonable follow-up but cannot guarantee the manufacturer's processing time, decision or availability of a replacement paddle.
