Tennis Racket Warranty

Sports Circuit is an authorized Canadian retailer for the tennis rackets and brands we sell. Eligible tennis racket warranty claims are reviewed under the applicable manufacturer’s limited warranty policy.

A manufacturer’s warranty is intended to protect the original purchaser against qualifying defects in materials or workmanship. It is separate from the Sports Circuit Return and Refund Policy .

Warranty Period

Many tennis racket manufacturers provide a limited warranty beginning on the original purchase date. A one-year warranty is common, but some manufacturers may offer a shorter or longer period.

The exact warranty period depends on:

• The racket brand
• The specific racket model
• The manufacturer’s policy in effect for the product
• The original purchase date
• The country in which the product was purchased

Proof of purchase from Sports Circuit is normally required. Warranty coverage is generally limited to the original purchaser and may not be transferable.

What May Be Covered

A tennis racket may qualify for manufacturer warranty consideration when it develops a defect caused by materials or workmanship during normal and intended use.

Examples that may require manufacturer review include:

• An unexplained structural failure of the frame
• A manufacturing defect in the handle or frame construction
• Separation of components caused by a manufacturing issue
• A defect that affects the racket’s safe and intended operation

The presence of a crack, break or other problem does not automatically establish that the racket is defective. The manufacturer must assess the location, wear pattern, condition and apparent cause of the damage.

What Is Usually Not Covered

Manufacturer warranties generally do not cover damage caused by normal use, external impact, improper care or circumstances unrelated to a manufacturing defect.

Common exclusions may include:

• Normal wear and tear
• Paint chips, scratches, scuffs or other cosmetic damage
• Damage caused by striking the court, net post, fence or another object
• Damage caused by contact with another player’s racket
• Damage caused by throwing, dropping or abusing the racket
• Cracks or breaks showing clear signs of external impact
• Multiple cracks or separate impact points
• Excessive wear around the head, sides, bumper or handle
• Damage caused by excessive heat, cold, moisture or improper storage
• Damage caused during transportation or shipping
• Damage caused by unauthorized repairs or modifications
• Damage caused by adding weight or altering the frame
• Products purchased used, as-is, as a demo or from another retailer
• Products with a removed, altered or unreadable serial number or hologram

Breaks around high-contact areas of the frame, including the sides of the racket and throat area, may be treated as impact-related damage depending on the manufacturer’s inspection.

Strings, Grips and Replaceable Parts

Strings installed in a tennis racket are not normally covered as part of a frame warranty. Stringing charges are also generally not reimbursed when a frame is replaced.

The following are normally considered consumable or replaceable components:

• Tennis strings
• Overgrips and replacement grips
• Grommets and bumper guards
• Vibration dampeners
• Head-protection tape

Damage caused by an improper stringing pattern, incorrect installation, excessive tension or a faulty stringing job may not qualify for warranty coverage.

Information Required for a Claim

To begin a tennis racket warranty request, provide the following information:

• Your full name
• Your Sports Circuit order number or receipt
• The racket brand and model
• The grip size and other applicable product details
• The approximate date when the issue was first noticed
• A description of how and when the damage occurred

Please also provide clear photographs showing:

• The damaged or defective area from more than one angle
• The complete racket from the handle to the top of the frame
• The front and back of the racket
• The top and both sides of the racket frame
• The throat and handle area
• The bumper guard and surrounding frame
• The serial number, hologram, QR code or other product identifier

Images should be well lit and in focus. Sports Circuit or the manufacturer may request additional photographs, video or information before completing the assessment.

Physical Inspection

Photographs may be sufficient to begin the claim, but they do not guarantee that a final decision can be made remotely.

Depending on the brand and nature of the damage, the racket may need to be:

• Brought to Sports Circuit for inspection
• Shipped to Sports Circuit
• Sent to the manufacturer’s Canadian warranty centre
• Submitted directly to the manufacturer under its claim process

Do not ship the racket anywhere until Sports Circuit or the manufacturer provides authorization and instructions.

Warranty Review Process

After receiving a complete claim submission, Sports Circuit may:

• Review the information and photographs provided
• Request additional information or images
• Confirm the original purchase details
• Forward the claim and proof of purchase to the manufacturer
• Provide instructions for physical inspection or shipment

Manufacturer review times vary. Some claims may be assessed within several business days, while claims requiring shipment or physical inspection may take longer.

Sports Circuit cannot guarantee the manufacturer’s processing time or approval decision.

Approval and Available Remedies

The manufacturer makes the final decision regarding whether a tennis racket warranty claim is approved.

When a claim is approved, the manufacturer may choose to:

• Repair the racket
• Replace it with the same model
• Replace it with a comparable model
• Provide a manufacturer credit or voucher
• Offer another remedy permitted under its warranty policy

The customer may not be able to select the replacement model, colour or remedy. When the original racket is discontinued or unavailable, the manufacturer may provide a reasonably comparable alternative.

A replacement racket does not necessarily begin a new warranty period. The original warranty period may continue to apply, depending on the manufacturer’s terms.

Shipping and Inspection Costs

The customer may be responsible for shipping the racket to Sports Circuit or the manufacturer unless the applicable warranty policy provides otherwise.

Additional charges may include:

• Shipping the product for inspection
• Returning a rejected warranty product
• Shipping an approved replacement racket
• New string and restringing charges
• Optional grip or customization services

Sports Circuit will communicate known charges before arranging shipment whenever reasonably possible.

Before Sending Your Racket

Until instructions are provided:

• Stop using the racket if continued use could cause further damage
• Do not dispose of the racket or broken components
• Do not cut or remove the strings
• Do not attempt to repair the frame
• Do not remove the serial number, hologram or identifying labels
• Keep your receipt or Sports Circuit order information
• Keep the original packaging when reasonably possible
